The Sauce EP Release: Coming Up at The Levee on Friday September 26!

Press Release: For Immediate Release Thursday, September 18 2014

Come join The Sauce for the release of their first recording on Friday, September 26 at The Levee!

No strangers to the Newfoundland music scene, Liz Solo, Mike Kean and Colleen Power combine their musical talents to bring you their new project. The Sauce is the trio’s first project since Livegirlz (1999-2001). Liz says, “The Sauce are about having fun. Having fun and making fun. So if it feels good or makes us laugh then we head in that direction.”

The Sauce’s debut, self-titled EP was recorded over two days by long time friend, fellow musician, and recording engineer Ritche Perez.

The Sauce will be joined onstage by Suzanne Power on bass, and punk rock pioneer and frontman for DOGMEAT BBQ, Mike O’Brien will front the band for a few songs! Like-minded, fun bands Branch Ricky and DT and the Dinosaurs will open the night. It’s guaranteed to be a wicked night of deadly music and drink specials!

Song Makers at the Hall: A Songwriters in the Round Experience

Thursday, July 31 at 8 PM

LSPU Hall’s Cox & Palmer Second Space

with Colleen Power, Liz Solo, Neil Conway, Nick Ryan and Sam Burke

Songwriters won’t have to compete with the noisy din of the bar, as they get up-close-and-personal with their songs and the audience in this intimate setting.

The night will be hosted by award-winning singer/songwriter Colleen Power, who was recently featured in The Independent with her feisty new worker’s anthem, ‘Crossing the Line’ a song that takes aim at scab workers. She was chosen to represent Newfoundland and Labrador and will be singing in French at The World Acadian Congress to be held in August in Edmunston, New Brunswick.

Liz Solo’s musical career as vocalist, guitarist, drummer and composer/songwriter spans three decades. She is currently working on new band projects TrixXxie and The Sauce. All of her official releases are available for streaming and download on Bandcamp.

Neil Conway has recently returned from a tour across Canada in November 2013 followed by shows in Asia over the winter and Europe. Since its release, his latest recording “Songs For Topical Use” has been tearing up the charts on Canadian campus radio. This guys deserves a warm welcome at his first show back in town since last September!

Nick Ryan recently released the beautiful ‘Prose and Cons’ featuring Naomi Kavka. The Overcast says it’s one of the best local albums of 2014.

This will be Sam Burke’s first ever time playing at the LSPU Hall. Sam has been steadfastly hosting Epic Wednesdays on the deck for a while now and she will blow you away with her poignant lyrics and killer riffs. You will be hearing a lot more from Sam.

For tickets, call the Hall at 753-4531 or visit www.rca.nf.ca
