Colleen Power Band at Brokestfest
The CP band is thrilled to be a part of a cool, inclusive, supportive new indie festival in our beautiful City of St. John’s!
Brokefest is a celebration of music and diversity!
A brand new festival is taking place in St. John’s on Saturday, September 4 at the beautiful Bowring Park Amphitheatre.
Brokest Fest is a free, all-ages one-day festival, with 12 bands scheduled to perform in a six-hour window from 4-10 PM.
The event is being put together by volunteers as a celebration of local music after a year of few public performances. For more details, visit https://gofund.me/445e7c94.
“There’s a bit of everything on the lineup — something for the rap fans, metalheads, punks, indie rockers and everything in between.”
— Brokest Fest organizer Shaun McCabe
Bands include:
Birch Beer, Tunnel Vision, Colleen Power, Andrew Waterman, Steffi the Artist, Albert Dalton, g_sm00th, Joe Grizzly, Cicerone, Swimming, Salem Creeps, PUCE
All additional funds will be donated to the ANC’s Welcome Rainbow Project which sponsors LGBTQ+ refugees to come to Canada and helps them transition to their new life once here.
Some countries around the world still have laws that put LGBTQ+ people in danger of torture, imprisonment and death.
As well, some refugee camps are dangerous for LGBTQ+ people and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, new arrivals have slowed down.
